Job Overview

Wide Effect is seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures, ensuring precise alignment and fit. You will work closely with other construction professionals to meet project deadlines and adhere to all safety regulations and building codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Framing and Structure: Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials to construct frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
  • Installation: Install structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, and cabinetry, ensuring precise alignment and fit.
  • Repairs: Assess and repair damaged structures and fixtures, including replacing broken materials and ensuring structural integrity.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to meet project requirements.
  • Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for each project based on durability, cost, and aesthetics.
  • Finishing Work: Perform finishing tasks such as sanding, staining, and painting surfaces to achieve desired finishes.
  • Tool Operation: Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and nail guns.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other construction professionals such as electricians, plumbers, and masons to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and building codes throughout the construction process.
  • Site Management: Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored safely.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in carpentry or construction is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in the use of carpentry tools and equipment.
    • Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
    • Good physical condition and strength to lift heavy materials.
    • Attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Certifications: OSHA safety certification may be required; additional certifications in specialized carpentry techniques can be beneficial.
Working Conditions

Carpentry work may take place in various environments, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The role may involve working outdoors in various weather conditions. Safety gear, including hard hats, gloves, and eye protection, is necessary.
