Position: Financial Services Advisor
Role Summary: The Financial Services Advisor engages with prospective students and current enrollees to assess their qualifications for federal financial assistance programs. This involves calculating potential awards from PELL, SEOG, Stafford/Direct loans, and other Title IV and non-Title IV funding sources. The advisor is responsible for packaging and awarding all financial aid for each academic year and ensuring accurate data entry into the Student Information Systems as mandated. All tasks are conducted in compliance with applicable regulations and institutional guidelines, requiring a high standard of ethics in student counseling.
Compensation and Benefits: The anticipated starting pay for this role is approximately $31.00 per hour. Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, alongside flexible spending and health savings accounts. Employees can earn two to three weeks of paid vacation within the first five years, in addition to eleven paid holidays. We also provide state-compliant sick leave, disability coverage, and company-sponsored life insurance. A 401k profit-sharing plan with a discretionary match and tuition assistance is available to our team members.
Qualifications: To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following educational and experiential criteria:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Eligibility for Professional Access to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is required.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in financial advising or training is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet applications, and database software is essential.
- Experience with Student Financial Aid software is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively are crucial.
