Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Brookshire Grocery Company. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting our pharmacy personnel with preparing prescriptions, completing related paperwork, and ordering supplies and medications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and process prescriptions orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Enter customer information into our system and assist with filling orders.
  • Communicate with doctors and insurance companies to obtain and verify necessary customer information.
  • Maintain quality control by ensuring dated product is stocked, rotated, or discarded properly if unsold.
  • Ensure filled prescriptions and bulk bottles of medications are organized properly.
  • Order supplies and medicines from wholesalers and distributors as needed, and complete and verify necessary paperwork, reports, and invoices.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification required.
  • Must be registered with the State Board and meet state technician requirements for continuing education.
  • Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, partners, doctors' offices, and third-party insurance companies.
Work Environment

Our pharmacy is a fast-paced and dynamic environment where you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of customers and medications. You will be required to stand or walk for long periods of time and may be exposed to chemicals and other hazardous materials.
