Job Summary

The Department of Public Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Facilities Evaluator Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare inspection team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and evaluations of healthcare facilities to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth surveys of healthcare facilities to determine compliance with state licensing and federal certification requirements.
  • Interview patients and healthcare staff to gather information and document findings.
  • Make determinations of healthcare facilities' compliance with state and federal laws and regulations based on survey findings and observations.
  • Prepare written comprehensive deficiencies when deemed appropriate.
  • Develop and present testimony to support civil monetary penalties in legal proceedings.
  • Attend meetings and participate in local programs to improve uniform compliance in licensed healthcare facilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with trends in the healthcare delivery system and industries through training and professional development.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Registered Nursing (RN) license.
  • Extensive travel experience, as this role will require frequent visits to healthcare facilities across the state.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address compliance issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
