Position Summary:
As the Purchasing Manager, you will lead and supervise the procurement team to ensure the effective and efficient sourcing of materials essential for battery cell manufacturing. Your responsibilities will encompass supplier management, cost optimization, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including R&D, Quality Assurance, Production, and Maintenance, to resolve procurement challenges and uphold the highest standards of product quality and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide, mentor, and cultivate the procurement team, promoting a culture of innovation and ongoing enhancement.
- Establish performance metrics, conduct evaluations, and provide continuous feedback and support.
- Identify and execute procurement improvements to boost efficiency and product quality.
- Perform comprehensive analyses of existing procurement processes and devise strategies for optimization and cost reduction.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to pinpoint and address procurement bottlenecks.
- Oversee procurement projects from inception to completion.
- Offer technical expertise in sourcing materials and components critical to battery cell production.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality benchmarks.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to develop and implement robust quality control measures and validation protocols.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for procurement-related issues.
- Develop and implement effective solutions to prevent the recurrence of procurement challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on materials sourcing for manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing procurement teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a proven record of implementing procurement enhancements.
- In-depth knowledge of sourcing materials and components for battery cell production.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, SPC).
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to procurement in manufacturing.
