We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our providers to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care to patients, including administering treatments and medications as prescribed.
- Assist with the preparation of equipment and aid providers during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Observe, record, and report patients' condition and reaction to drugs or treatments to providers.
- Oversee appointment bookings and ensure timely flow of patients.
- Greets patients and obtains well-documented history and vitals, prepares patients for physical exam, and instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
- Perform various tasks, including obtaining and recording vital signs, performing initial assessments, coordinating patient transfers, and giving telephone orders.
- May perform additional tasks, including blood collection, pulse oximetry, incentive spirometry, and administering medications, under the supervision of a licensed practitioner.
- Formulate and update patient care plans, order and prepare patient charts, and post test results.
- Maintain patient files, records, and other information in a professional manner, following policies and procedures regarding documentation.
- Ensure preparation of exam rooms, including restocking of treatment areas.
- Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional licensure and affiliations.
- Follow CHRISTUS Physician Group guidelines related to HIPAA and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Use effective communication skills to convey ideas in a clear and positive manner, consistent with the CHRISTUS Mission.
- Maintain established CHRISTUS Physician Group policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
- Implement job responsibilities in a manner consistent with the CHRISTUS Mission and Code of Ethics and supportive of CHRISTUS Physician Group's cultural diversity objectives.
