HIM Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled HIM Specialist to join our team at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. As a key member of our Health Information Management department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of patient records.

• Manage data entry, file maintenance, and other clerical processes for the release of information (ROI) in the HIM department.
• Collaborate with the Social Work Team for approval of sensitive notes and releases of PHI.
• Ensure the privacy and security of all patient records.
• Manage information requests and verify access to records: analysis and redacting records using the software.

• 1-year of experience in health information management, preferably in release of information.
• Proven ability to use electronic health record systems (EHR).
• Demonstrated ability to type accurately and efficiently, with a focus on speed and attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and comply with policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
