About the Role

Eli Lilly and Company is seeking a highly skilled Associate Chemist to join our Quality Control Laboratory team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the manufacture of products meets predetermined standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine laboratory testing and analysis to ensure product quality and safety.
  • Utilize technical skills to troubleshoot equipment and methods, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Accurately record data in reports and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) in accordance with laboratory procedures and standards.
  • Verify analytical data generated by other analysts within the laboratory as required.
  • Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Support lean laboratory and 5S initiatives to optimize laboratory efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated relevant experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) laboratory.
  • Previous experience with liquid chromatography (LC) instruments, enterprise chromatography systems, and standalone commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) testing instruments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Empower and LabVantage LIMS.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills and ability to collaborate and interact with management, scientists, engineers, and IT personnel.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and preferred training and experience in root cause analysis methodology.
Work Environment
  • Tasks may require repetitive motion and standing for long periods of time.
  • 8-hour days, Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional shift work when required within the laboratory.
  • Travel may be required during project phases.
