Job Summary
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and support to our team at Prisma Health. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Registered Nurse in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Turn and reposition patients safely and efficiently.
- Transport patients and assist with walking as needed.
- Assist with fall prevention interventions and patient restraints as delegated by the RN.
- Provide patient care as delegated by the RN, including non-sterile soaks, application of non-sterile simple dressings, and perineal care.
- Collect and document vital signs, fluid intake and output, and basic and sterile specimen collection.
- Run errands and respond to patient call lights as needed.
- Perform point-of-care testing as trained and delegated by the RN.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of office equipment and data entry.
- Mathematical skills and ability to accurately document patient information.
Work Environment
This is a non-management position that will report to a supervisor or manager. The work environment is fast-paced and requires strong communication and teamwork skills.
