Helicopter Pilot

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Helicopter Pilot to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a Helicopter Pilot, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of flight assignments related to the conveyance of patients in need of emergency services.

• Plan and execute flight assignments, obtaining briefing information regarding purpose of the flight, weather, operating procedures, and special instructions.
• Conduct start-of-shift briefings with assigned medical, communications, and ground personnel.
• Ensure the aircraft is prepared for flight, inspected, loaded, equipped, fueled, and staffed according to the General Operating Manual.
• Supervise and assist with loading and distribution of cargo and passengers, ensuring weight and balance are within prescribed limitations.
• File, activate, and close flight plans, and ensure proper completion of flight logs, records, and maintenance forms.
• Check aircraft discrepancy logs prior to flight to ensure all discrepancies have been corrected or properly deferred.
• Log all mechanical discrepancies as they occur and inform maintenance personnel.
• Notify the Life Flight Communications Center of the service status of the aircraft.
• Participate in post-flight debriefings and maintain proficiency as Pilot-in-Command and SPIFR operations.

• Current Federal Aviation Administration Class II Flight Physical Required.
• Minimum 1700 Total Flight hours, with 1500 Helicopter hours, 1000 Hours PIC time, 1000 Hours Turbine engine, 500 Hours Multi-engine helicopter, 100 Hours Night Unaided, and 50 Hours NVG experience preferred.
• Minimum 75 Hours actual or simulated instrument time with 50 Hours in actual flight.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum of 1 year-related work experience preferred.
• Certified Airline Transport Pilot, Helicopter Instrument Training License, Licensed Commercial Helicopter Pilot with Instrument Helicopter Rating, and Valid Driver's License required.
