Travel LPN for Long Term Care

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team as a Travel LPN. This opportunity allows an LPN to travel locally by working in various GSS locations within a 150-mile radius from home address, providing care with competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, flexibility, and no contract requirement.
Nursing Principles
This role requires the ability to demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, utilizing appropriate age and population-specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan.
Caregiver Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provide the care needed. They will also be able to recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation. Ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of residents is a key responsibility of this role.
Assessment and Medication Administration
The successful candidate will contribute to the assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered. They will also provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed and document resident interactions as required.
Education and Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred. If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing. Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility. Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
