Astec Industries is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Machinist to join our production line team. This is a challenging role that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Job Overview

This position involves operating CNC machining centers, manual milling machines, and other heavy equipment to produce high-quality components. As a Heavy Equipment Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating machinery, monitoring machine performance, and making adjustments as needed. You will also be involved in inspecting finished parts, identifying defects, and implementing corrective actions.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate CNC machining centers and manual milling machines to produce high-quality components
  • Set up and operate machinery, including programming and calibration
  • Monitor machine performance, detect malfunctions, and make adjustments as needed
  • Inspect finished parts, identify defects, and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with engineers, production management, and other team members to resolve machining or programming issues
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; formal technical training preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience working with heavy equipment production lines, preferably in CNC machining
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tolerances, and quality control
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Benefits:

Astec Industries offers a competitive salary, ranging from $65,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on experience. We also provide comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
