Job Summary

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a Special Education Intervention Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with parents, department team members, and other professionals to create and implement IEPs that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide Instruction and Support: Design and deliver instruction that parallels the general education curriculum, and provide individual and small group support to students with a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities.
  • Communicate with Parents and Colleagues: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and other professionals to ensure seamless collaboration and support for students.
  • Monitor Progress and Evaluate Effectiveness: Regularly monitor student progress, participate in review and revision of IEPs, and maintain accurate student records to ensure the highest level of educational, physical, and social development.
  • Collaborate with General Education Staff: Serve as the coordinator of IEP implementation with general education staff, and work collaboratively to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
  • Certifications: Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations (minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred)
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to effectively elicit and provide information to and from appropriate individuals, proficiency in the English language, and computer proficiency
