Job Summary
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide therapy to patients based on their individual needs and medical direction. Your role will also involve educating patients and their caregivers, as well as arranging for adaptive equipment as necessary. Additionally, you will participate in and complete all required components of our structured residency program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess patients' levels of disability and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Provide personalized therapy programs and education to help patients regain maximum function.
  • Document patient evaluations and treatment in compliance with department standards and medical-legal procedures.
  • Train and educate other rehabilitation staff, nursing personnel, and students on patient needs and rehabilitation services.
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement, patient satisfaction initiatives, and program development activities.
  • Meet productivity standards as indicated by department requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with continuing education and apply new concepts to patient care and skill development.
  • Residency Program Requirements
(1) Attend all required residency meetings and functions as outlined in the Speech Therapy Residency Manual. (2) Complete assigned learning requirements as outlined in the Speech Therapy Residency Manual. (3) Ensure services are provided in accordance with state and federal regulations, organizational policy, and accreditation/compliance requirements. (4) Maintain accurate and timely documentation for activities within areas of responsibility.

Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited speech therapy program.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree or Doctorate from an accredited speech therapy program.
  • 2 years of relevant experience, which may include clinical education experience.
  • CRT-Speech Language Pathologist certification from ASHA.
  • LIC-Driver's License from the State of Michigan for Home Care Business Lines.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support certification from AHA or ARC within 90 days.
