Job Description

This position is responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services while providing exceptional patient care. As an Intervential Radiology Technologist, you will be accountable for individualized patient care while working in our Diagnostic Interventional Department.

Nature and Scope of Work

You will provide radiology services to patients across various age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Demonstrating your ability to work with patients' physical, motor/sensory adaptation, cognitive, and psychosocial needs, you will meet standards of quality as measured by our Unit/Department age-specific competency standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competently operate interventional imaging equipment and related machinery.
  • Verify and execute physician's orders for diagnostic and therapeutic exams, ensuring the proper preparation for such exams, and the safety and well-being of patients during procedures.
  • Perform as a first assist to the Interventional Cardiologist, Vascular Surgeon, or Interventional Radiologist.
  • Sets up sterile trays and maintains the sterility of the room.
  • Other duties include circulating, manipulating drains and lines, suturing, billing and filming, supplies stocking, charting, quality improvement studies.
Determining Exam Quality and Patient Safety

You will determine the best method of obtaining optimal intervention examinations while ensuring patient safety; regulates patient flow, consults with radiologists to determine contrast media applications or variances in established procedures; continually evaluates exam quality and makes necessary corrections to improve image quality.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Associate degree in radiologic technology or RCIS, or completion of AMA-approved hospital-based program.
  • Experience: No experience required. Preference will be given to applicants with Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV), Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI), or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI). Applicants with experience in hospitals with computer system operations will be given preference.
  • License(s): Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) R.T. (R) certification or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). State of Nevada Radiation Control Program License.
  • Certification(s): 200266 (Cath Lab): BLS upon hire required. ACLS within six months of hire required. Renown: Intro to ECG Interpretation class required within 6 months of hire. 200255 and 400255 (IR): BLS upon hire required.
