Job Title: Winter Cheerleading Coach

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Winter Cheerleading Coach to join our team at Greece Central School District.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching the Winter Cheerleading team, developing and implementing a comprehensive coaching plan, and ensuring the team's success in competitions.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a coaching plan that aligns with the district's goals and objectives
  • Coach the Winter Cheerleading team to achieve success in competitions
  • Develop and manage a strong grade 7-12 athletic program
  • Oversee an in-season and off-season conditioning and strength program
  • Expand and develop an in-community feeder program
  • Develop a unified and committed coaching staff
  • Emphasize academics, sportsmanship, and chemical-free sports participation
  • Encourage multiple sport participation by team members
Requirements:
  • A valid New York State teaching certificate in Physical Education (K-12) or another classroom subject area
  • A Professional Coaching Certificate or eligibility for a Temporary Coaching License
  • Valid and acceptable First Aid, CPR, and AED certificates
  • Completion of required coursework, including Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse, SAVE, and DASA
  • Willingness to enroll in and complete the Coaching Course Options within the first two years of coaching
Selection Criteria:
  • Years of overall coaching experience
  • Years of coaching experience in a specific sport
  • Years of coaching experience at various levels (Youth Organizations, Modified, Junior Varsity and/or Varsity)
  • Performance in previous coaching positions
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and positively with students and parents
