We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech Therapist to join our team at the Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU). As a Speech Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing speech and language services to children and families in Berks County.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing evaluations, developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and delivering direct therapy and consultation services to teachers, parents, and staff. This is a full-time position, 10 months per year, with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:- Conduct screenings and evaluations to identify children with communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in coordination with parents, teachers, and other personnel
- Provide direct therapy and consultation services to children and families
- Consult with parents, teachers, and other personnel regarding the management of communication disorders and literacy development
- Assist in developing and implementing training and curriculum components related to communication and literacy
- Bachelor's degree in Speech/Language Pathology required; Master's degree preferred
- Pennsylvania certification as required by the Department of Education
- Credentials necessary for participation in the School-Based ACCESS Program preferred
- ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competency preferred
- Post-graduate coursework with a focus on communication and reading/literacy desired
