Cloud Security Subject Matter Expert specializing in FedRAMP and FISMA compliance within the federal landscape. The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) role encompasses overseeing Security Authorization activities for CSI's government clientele, ensuring adherence to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800 series guidelines. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of cloud infrastructures and FedRAMP protocols, coupled with a robust background in NIST 800-37, Risk Management Framework, and NIST security controls.
Position: Cloud Security Subject Matter Expert at Cyber Security Innovations (CSI)
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and uphold information system security documentation.
- Guarantee that systems are properly patched and fortified.
- Facilitate the remediation of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
- Assist in the Ongoing Authorization Program.
- Effectively convey technical details to non-technical personnel.
- Perform ISSO responsibilities including approval of change requests and analysis of vulnerability scans.
- Generate waivers and exceptions for identified system vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with clients on capability enhancement and presentations.
- Provide security recommendations to the Risk Management Branch Chief.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen with the capability to obtain agency-specific clearance.
- Proximity to Camp Springs, MD for hybrid onsite engagements.
- Possession of relevant certifications such as CASP, CISSP, or equivalent.
- Current AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Certification.
- Previous experience guiding systems through the FedRAMP ATO process.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Over 7 years of relevant work experience with technical proficiency across various platforms.
- Strong background in cloud security principles, networking, and risk assessment.
- Expertise in Cloud Computing technologies and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Familiarity with NIST security standards and compliance protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client engagement.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with containerization and serverless technologies.
- Proficiency in DevOps methodologies and orchestration tools.
- Engineering or architecture experience in AWS, Google, or Azure environments.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices and CI/CD deployment.
- Programming skills in languages such as Python and Java.
- Ability to offer security insights in change management processes.
- Extensive knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools like Fortify and Nessus.
