We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Haywood Hospice & Palliative Care in Waynesville, NC.

About the Role:

  • As a Hospice Nurse Practitioner, you will provide consultation in palliative care, symptom management, and supportive care to meet the needs of our Hospice patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make face-to-face encounter visits within prescribed time limits to qualifying Hospice patients and report clinical findings to the Hospice Medical Director.
  • Consult with the Hospice Medical Director as needed, inform primary physician of recommended services, and collaborate with other physicians as needed.
  • Initiate and coordinate the plan of care, documenting problems, appropriate goals, interventions, and patient/family response to hospice care.
  • Instruct and supervise the patient/family in self-care techniques when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding the patient's condition and report patient condition and any identified needs/issues to Administrator and Hospice Medical Director.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years nursing experience, with clinical nursing care in oncology, hospice, geriatrics, or intensive care preferred.
  • Current certification as a clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
  • Current certification by a national body such as ANCC, NBCHPN, or AANP.
  • Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
  • Current CPR certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Palliative Care ARNP preferred.
