Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing flexible hours, including some evening sessions, and will require collaboration with our on-site Psychiatrist. The position supports our mission to deliver high-quality mental health care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for clients of all ages
- Manage ongoing medication needs as required
- Complete necessary documentation in a timely manner, adhering to program and state regulations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical notes and client information within the electronic health record system
- Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed
- Collaborate with administrative staff to meet client needs effectively
- Travel between sites as necessary
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is essential
- Current certification with the Drug Enforcement Administration for prescribing medications
- Active nursing license in New York State
- Experience with Medicaid/Medicare clients is advantageous
- Passion for serving underserved communities, along with strong engagement and interpersonal skills
Work Environment
This role involves travel to our mental health clinic. A professional workspace will be provided, including necessary office supplies and equipment.
Physical Demands
The responsibilities of this position require the ability to communicate effectively via phone and virtual sessions, maintain prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and manage light lifting of objects up to 25 pounds when necessary.
