Position Overview:

We are seeking dedicated individuals to become part of our dynamic team. The Fiber Optical Technician will be responsible for the installation, splicing, troubleshooting, and testing of Fiber Optic systems for both new and existing projects. This role includes providing 24/7 emergency response support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project supervisors to strategize installations as necessary.
  • Install, repair, and test fiber optic cables in diverse environments, including underground, indoor, and aerial settings.
  • Terminate cables using various connectors and perform testing with OTDRs, Power Meters/Light Sources, and VFLs.
  • Document and record testing results according to customer specifications.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while performing daily tasks.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in interactions with colleagues and clients.
  • Ensure quality workmanship that exceeds industry standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation and blueprints.
  • Experience in mechanical and fusion splicing.
  • Strong understanding of fiber counts and color coding.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with testing equipment.
  • Experience in fiber optic construction, maintenance, and testing.
  • Detail-oriented with a mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid Driver's License; CDL Class A certification is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

This position may require working in various weather conditions and physical activities such as standing for extended periods, lifting weights up to 100 lbs., and performing repetitive motions.
