We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at Cherokee Federal. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in performing laboratory procedures and experiments to support our research and development efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory procedures and experiments as required, including serological assays, chemical assays, genetic and molecular biology procedures, and growth of solid and liquid cultures.
- Collect and process blood specimens from submitting laboratories and send shipping supplies to submitting facilities and laboratories.
- Verify analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and reference ranges for test methods and work with physicians to analyze results and conduct more difficult, non-routine tests.
- Maintain a laboratory notebook and follow laboratory SOPs and specific written experimental protocols.
- Submit reports and data summaries as required and comply with occupational health and safety standards and other applicable regulations and guidelines.
- AS or BS in Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology.
- 1-3 years of experience in clinical microbiology or molecular biology outside of an academic setting.
- Familiarity with the processing of microbial identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing data generated on automated systems.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities and ability to work in a fast-paced environment using critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motion.
Cherokee Federal offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $70,000, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401K, and other benefits.
