The Role:

Flexport is seeking a seasoned Infrastructure Engineer to enhance our reputation as the most reliable entity in the global trade ecosystem. In this role, you will possess a comprehensive understanding of the various technologies and processes that underpin and support a rapidly evolving production website, developed by multiple product teams.

Your Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with fellow engineers on the infrastructure team to enhance existing systems and workflows.
  2. Support and integrate a diverse array of development and production environments, including Buildkite, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, ECS, Kubernetes, AWS Lambdas, and various development setups.
  3. Maintain a thorough understanding of the entire landscape of infrastructure and developer experience tools and methodologies.
  4. Foster a culture of transparency, knowledge sharing, and teamwork through the creation of comprehensive documentation, mentoring junior team members, and embodying Flexport's core values.
  5. Participate in an on-call rotation to address critical incidents as they arise.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in infrastructure engineering supporting product development and engineering teams in a dynamic global setting.
  3. At least 3 years of software development experience in languages such as TypeScript, Node.js, Java, or Ruby.
  4. Familiarity with developer tools, including source code management, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration automation using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform).
  5. Experience with IaaS cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, containers, and service-oriented architectures.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an empathetic approach to delivering information.

Compensation: The US base salary range for this position is $147,000 - $185,000 USD, exclusive of bonuses, equity, and benefits.
