Position Summary

This role is crucial for overseeing the replenishment and management of materials, with an annual expenditure exceeding $35 million. The Purchasing Agent will ensure optimal part availability by utilizing effective inventory management strategies, such as Kanban and MRD, to facilitate timely deliveries to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement MRD/Kanban systems for efficient planning and inventory oversight.
  • Procure materials, parts, supplies, and equipment in alignment with established purchasing policies, optimizing for cost, delivery, and terms.
  • Advise on inventory levels to support demand forecasts and assess the implications of fluctuating demand and supply scenarios to meet shipment objectives.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to review forecasts, integrating their feedback to ensure alignment.
  • Identify potential suppliers, solicit quotations, analyze options, and issue purchase orders while ensuring follow-up and expediting as needed.
  • Prepare and approve purchase requisitions in accordance with company policies and negotiated agreements.
  • Monitor inventory levels daily to ensure compliance with delivery performance and vendor obligations.
  • Conduct administrative tasks, including investigating inventory discrepancies and verifying invoices.
Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in procurement.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven with the ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics ERP.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as operations or business.
