Position Overview:
The Lake Forest Animal Clinic is seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technician (licensed or non-licensed) to provide exceptional support in our clinic. This role requires a commitment to patient care and effective communication with both clients and team members.
Work Schedule:
Full-time position with required Saturday shifts. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 7 am-6 pm; Saturdays, 8 am-4:00 pm.
Compensation:
Starting pay is $19.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Veterinary Technician / Patient Care Coordinator, you will:
- Support veterinarians during examinations and medical treatments.
- Ensure smooth operations by guiding support staff.
- Mentor and assist team members in their professional growth.
- Provide compassionate patient care under the supervision of a veterinarian.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with clients.
- Accurately document all relevant medical and client information.
- Review medical records and discharge instructions with clients.
- Address client inquiries regarding basic animal care and procedures.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proficiency in various veterinary skills including laboratory, pharmacy, and nursing.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of common anesthesia protocols and monitoring techniques.
- Confidence in administering SQ injections and handling patients.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- A genuine affinity for working with animals.
