Job Title: Shift Leader

At ABB, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Leader to join our team. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of team members, assisting production supervisors in allocating and overseeing shift orders, and providing regular feedback to management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assure the safety of team members assigned.
  • Assist production supervisors in allocating, coordinating, and overseeing shift order and work plan execution within production lines during shifts.
  • Provide regular feedback and make recommendations to management regarding issues within the production line, including production line organization, shifting priorities, and possible critical situations.
  • Ensure that operators have materials necessary to complete tasks.
  • Assist in training and cross-training of team members.
  • Help management implement staff movements in case of vacations, illnesses, machine outages, or shifting priorities, including backfilling for team members.
  • Serve as leader for shift and work to establish a collaborative environment and resolution of technical/quality problems and logistics issues.
  • Reinforce focus on volume, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
  • Ensure the shift operation is run in compliance with health and safety policies and guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in the manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Leadership skills, including the ability to effectively influence.
  • Basic business acumen.
  • Basic problem-solving skills.
  • Safety and quality focused.
  • Computer literate - must be able to develop, analyze, and present data developed from the use of the computer.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
