Job Overview:

At Staff Icons, we are seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a critical role in the screening and diagnosis of gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens.

Key Responsibilities:

* Screen and diagnose gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens
* Prepare final diagnoses on negative/normal gynecologic specimens
* Enter preliminary results in the system for finalization by a pathologist
* Attend fine needle aspiration procedures to determine specimen adequacy
* Ensure accurate labeling and ordering of specimens
* Maintain supplies and stain control log for the mobile FNA cart
* Perform routine maintenance on microscopes and laboratory equipment
* Prepare cytology and thin prep specimens on a STAT basis
* Maintain patient and employee confidentiality
* Participate in regulatory agency inspections

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree from an approved college or university
* Certification as a cytotechnologist from the ASCP
* ThinPrep certification
* Three years of experience as a cytotechnologist in a laboratory supervised by a pathologist or physician certified in diagnostic cytopathology
