Para Educator

Join Gwinnett County Public Schools as a Para Educator - Moderate Level II and play a vital role in supporting students with special needs.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Para Educator - Moderate Level II to join our team. As a Para Educator - Moderate Level II, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to students with special needs. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with lesson planning, implementing instructional strategies, and providing behavioral support to students.

1. Assist teachers with lesson planning and implementation, including adapting materials and activities to meet the needs of students with special needs.
2. Provide individualized support to students, including academic and behavioral support, to help them achieve their goals.
3. Implement behavioral plans and strategies to support students with challenging behaviors.
4. Assist with data collection and record-keeping to track student progress.
5. Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A Paraprofessional Educator certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC).
• Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a licensed child care environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
