Job Overview

Hammond & Associates, a leading MEP consulting engineering firm, is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating electrical building systems designs that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up project and drawing tasks in Revit and AutoCAD, creating discipline-specific drawing sheets using architectural base files.
  • Design and produce electrical systems using AutoCAD and/or Revit, adhering to applicable codes and regulations under the supervision of a senior engineer.
  • Perform electrical engineering calculations to design plumbing systems, including sizing of source equipment and distribution systems, under the guidance of a senior engineer.
  • Stay up-to-date with international and local building codes to ensure code-compliant design documents are produced under the supervision of a senior engineer.
  • Participate in project meetings to ensure scope of work understanding and communicate effectively with clients and internal team members.
  • Conduct site visits to survey and capture existing conditions, authoring reports that illustrate and describe observations and findings.
  • Execute construction administration duties, including first-level responses to RFI and submittal review, under the supervision of senior engineering staff.
  • Attend and participate in engineering industry training, events, and continuing education to stay current on the latest engineering concepts and technologies.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of electrical design experience in a relevant field of design.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited 4-year college/university preferred.
