Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiologist Physician to join our team at SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for interpreting diagnostic images from various imaging modalities, including radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and computed tomography (CT).

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret radiographic examinations, including spine, extremities, head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis for all imaging sites at SEARHC.
  • Perform various fluoroscopy exams and common interventional procedures as requested/required.
  • Collaborate with other SEARHC radiologists to set standards for positions and views.
  • Interpret mammograms performed throughout SEARHC, including mobile mammography in remote villages in southeast Alaska.
  • Request special views when needed and perform needle locations and other procedures as required.
  • Interpret ultrasound exams, including OB/GYN, abdominal, pelvic, and endovaginal, small parts, and vascular exams.
  • Supervise and interpret CT examinations, approve contrast dosage for patients, and pre-approve all CT and MRI orders from the consortium.
  • Participate in medical staff functions, including medical staff meetings, and collaborate with the Chief of Radiology Services and the Administrative Director of Radiology Services to produce a corporate service plan.
  • Provide educational programs regarding radiologic services to the medical staff, support staff, and imaging services staff, and serve as a consultant to other healthcare providers.
Requirements
  • Four years of clinical experience following residency training.
  • Training in general diagnostic radiology, CT, MRI, mammography, and ultrasound.
  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Satisfactory completion of AMA-approved Radiology Residency and Board Certification in Radiology.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Licensed in the state of Alaska.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography, ultrasound, CT exams, MRI, and other services offered by SEARHC.
  • Considerable knowledge of digitized imaging and multiple computer systems.
  • Skilled in accurate interpretations of radiographic, fluoroscopic, mammographic, CT, MRI, and ultrasound studies.
  • Skilled at working independently in interpretation of these imaging modalities.
  • Able to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with providers, patients, computer technologists, and SEARHC staff.
