The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in overseeing nursing staff during assigned shifts, ensuring that residents receive exceptional and compassionate care. This position involves monitoring the performance of nursing personnel and providing constructive evaluations to enhance care delivery.
The LPN is responsible for assessing the diverse needs of residents, encompassing physical, emotional, spiritual, and social aspects, and collaborating in the development of personalized care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guarantee that every resident receives high-quality care.
- Strive to achieve and maintain optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being in alignment with comprehensive assessments and care plans.
- Punctually report for duty and receive updates from the previous shift.
- Review 24-hour reports and check schedules for appointments and necessary lab work.
- Delegate responsibilities and breaks among nursing staff.
- Supervise nursing personnel, ensuring adherence to job duties, protocols, and professional standards.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, maintaining accurate records of all interventions.
- Monitor residents' conditions and communicate any concerns to physicians promptly.
- Accurately transcribe and manage physician orders, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Conduct rounds with physicians and address any medication-related inquiries.
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to the established dress code, which includes wearing a clean, pressed uniform and appropriate footwear.
Qualifications:
Current Indiana License as an RN or LPN, or a valid temporary license as a GPN or GN.
Work Environment:
This position requires in-person engagement within the facility.
