Job Summary:

As a Health Center Assistant, you will provide high-quality patient care and support clinical and operational activities within the scope of your knowledge, experience, and training. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient registration and check-out services, including completing patient management system tasks.
  • Respond to patient telephone calls, providing basic information, scheduling appointments, and discussing fees in a professional manner.
  • Complete daily tasks, such as scrubbing schedules, insurance verifications, and reminder calls.
  • Provide patient education on STI, birth control, HIV, PEP/PrEP, and GAC, as needed.
  • Release and request medical records in compliance with policy and protocol.
  • Participate in maintaining the general upkeep of the facility, including keeping lobbies, reception areas, and other rooms tidy and disinfected.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certificate or professional training in healthcare and/or experience in an OB/GYN, family planning, or healthcare center setting is preferred.
  • Able to speak and write English; bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.
  • Basic ability in the use of Microsoft Office products is required.
  • Basic clerical and math skills are required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sensitivity in dealing with clients' sexuality and reproductive healthcare choices.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays.
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • May be exposed to communicable diseases and blood and body fluids that may contain HIV and/or HBV.
  • May be exposed to cleaning chemicals and offensive odors.
