- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines
- Instruct patients on medications and treatments
- Educate patients on health and illness prevention
- Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- BSN, MSN preferred
- Minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting
- Two years of nurse practitioner experience
- Valid RN license for the state of North Carolina
The Nurse Practitioner will work in a combination of exam rooms and medical offices, frequently exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
Physical and Mental DemandsThe position requires standing and walking for extensive periods, occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds, and working under stress in emergencies and irregular hours.
