As a key member of the LifeBridge Health team, the Nurse Lactation Specialist will play a vital role in coordinating lactation management activities and providing skilled nursing care to patients and their families. This position requires a strong understanding of lactation management principles and the ability to educate obstetrical staff and other healthcare professionals on best practices.
Responsibilities:- Coordinate lactation management activities and provide skilled nursing care to patients and their families.
- Develop and implement lactation education programs for obstetrical staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients with lactation-related issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in lactation management.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a CCNE-accredited institution.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in maternal newborn care.
- IBCLC certification or Breastfeeding Counselor certification with intent to test for IBCLC.
- Maryland Registered Nurse License and American Heart Association BLS Certification.
- Ability to obtain IBCLC certification within 6-12 months of hire.
