Logistics Broker

Salary: $50,000-$65,000

JB Harris Group is seeking skilled Freight Agents. In the role of a freight agent/broker, you will act as an intermediary between shippers and carriers.

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Freight Broker who will be accountable for nurturing relationships with carriers and shippers, negotiating freight costs, and ensuring the smooth transit of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and sustain robust relationships with carriers and shippers to fulfill their freight requirements.
• Negotiate contract conditions and pricing with carriers.
• Oversee and coordinate the transportation and movement of goods.
• Employ logistics software to manage freight timelines, monitor shipments, and address any challenges that arise during transit.
• Ensure adherence to all regulations and legal requirements related to freight transportation.
• Manage billing and invoicing for freight services.
• Proactively identify and resolve logistical challenges to avert delays.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all transactions, communications, and documentation.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience as a Freight Broker or in a comparable role within the transportation sector.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capability to perform under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with logistics software.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with CRM software.
• Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Bilingual skills are advantageous.

Supplemental Pay Types:
