Job Description:

The Financial Reporting group at Synectics provides internal and external clients with assistance related to annual audits and/or SEC filings across a diverse set of investment company types.

As a Sr. Consultant, you will be responsible for the preparation and review of fund financial statements in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and quality of the reports.

You will provide assistance to audit firms in the processes and procedures associated with their annual fund audits for both registered and non-registered fund bases, as well as ensure the timely and accurate filing of some SEC forms.

The group is currently looking for a Sr. Consultant who possesses experience and expertise in U.S. GAAP, SEC filings, and has deep working knowledge of derivatives.

You will review staff preparation of fund financial statements and schedules of investments, coordinate and draft notes to the financial statements for annual and semiannual shareholder reports for registered and non-registered funds.

You will assist with the management of day-to-day operations of clients, including the organization of reporting cycles.

You will assist with the management of fund and audit/client cycle deadlines to ensure deliverables are met and complete reviews to ensure accurate and timely filings.

You will serve as a technical resource for staff regarding questions related to new investment/derivative products, financial statement preparation questions, and auditor questions.

Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of recent experience in Financial Reporting group in asset management/financial services industry or Public Accounting in asset management/financial services industry
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products
  • Knowledge of Global InvestOne, Bloomberg, and financial reporting systems a plus

Recent experiences in Financial reporting for funds (1940 Act registered mutual funds, private funds, collective/common trust) managed by investment companies.

Public Accounting/Audit in asset management industry.
