Job Title: Airplane Pilot

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Airplane Pilot to join our team. As a key member of our aviation program, you will be responsible for piloting a unit-equipped airplane and performing administrative tasks in support of the Air Operations program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pilot a unit-equipped airplane and perform administrative tasks in support of the Air Operations program.
  • Plan, develop, and implement comprehensive training plans and scenarios to provide realistic technical aircrew training.
  • Design and coordinate unit flying schedules using inputs from within the Air Operations Division.
  • Maintain detailed wartime and peacetime contingency plans and supplements for unit mobility, deployment, strange field operations/employment, and redeployment of the unit.
  • Plan, organize, and administer unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Air Force, ANG, and OSHA directives, and applicable technical publications.

Requirements:

  • Must possess one year on-the-job experience in the grade (or a comparable military rank) immediately below the next higher level and full professional knowledge of aircraft operations programs, Federal Aviation Administration policies, training, flight certification programs, guiding principles, and techniques.
  • Must possess specialized experience which includes at least 24 months of experience in civilian aviation programs or military service aviation programs (active duty or reserve components) or, in the Army National Guard Aviation Support facility or, Air National Guard Wing/Operations Group; experience in piloting and instructing pilot skills in one or more of the following main-frame/military aircraft: Fixed-wing, rotary, or remotely piloted aircraft (RPA).

Qualifications:

  • Officer Only. May not exceed the rank of O6.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial air to conferences, meetings, or other functions away from the normal duty station.
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Working Conditions:

The employee may be required to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The employee may be required to work in a variety of settings, including offices, hangars, and aircraft.

Security Clearance:

This position requires a security clearance. The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
