Aircraft Armament and Avionics Specialist

The Army National Guard is seeking skilled individuals to maintain the electrical systems and perform maintenance on the advanced targeting system, 70mm rockets, and laser-guided Hellfire missiles of the AH-64 Apache helicopter. As an AH-64D Armament/Electrical/Avionics Systems Repairer, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing armament, electrical, and avionics systems and components. Your duties will include performing maintenance, modifications, and alignment on weapons components, fire control units, and sighting elements, as well as performing operational and preventive checks on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics, and controlled cryptographic equipment. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting equipment wiring harnesses, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing diagnostic equipment, and maintaining documentation and maintenance records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain records on weapons and subsystems
  • Perform maintenance, modifications, and alignment on weapons components, fire control units, and sighting elements
  • Perform operational and preventive checks on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics, and controlled cryptographic equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment wiring harnesses
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair diagnostic equipment
  • Maintain documentation and maintenance records
Requirements
  • Preference in mathematics and shop mechanics
