About Our Team:

The SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting team plays a vital role in managing financial disclosures to the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") and offering technical guidance to the Finance and Accounting departments.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager of SEC Reporting, Technical Accounting, and SOX will oversee the SEC reporting process, direct technical accounting research concerning new and upcoming accounting standards, and lead the SOX Project Management Office (PMO). This role is essential within the finance department and will engage with personnel across various levels of the organization, including internal and external auditors. The ideal candidate will excel in fostering strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

  • Oversee the financial reporting team in preparing and submitting all financial documents and SEC filings.
  • Collaborate with the Investor Relations team on various deliverables, including earnings announcements, investor Q&A sessions, and presentations.
  • Review and support the annual proxy and other SEC filings to ensure the precision of relevant financial data.
  • Address business needs by researching complex technical accounting issues, including debt offerings, lease accounting, derivatives, and manufacturing accounting.
  • Conduct research and documentation for the implementation of new standards, general corporate accounting issues, and a variety of intricate and non-standard transactions such as derivatives, debt offerings, manufacturing accounting, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to manage SOX program functions, including planning and scoping for testing, drafting, and issuing relevant SOX policies and guidance.
  • Assist in developing financial policies in response to operational changes, internal control requirements, or technical accounting needs.
  • Support Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) in the forecasting process.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members.
  • Lead or engage in special projects as required.
Qualifications:

  • Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Outstanding writing, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Experience Required:
  • Significant experience, ideally a combination of Big 4 public accounting and high-tech industry exposure.
  • Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Extensive experience in researching complex accounting issues.
  • Familiarity with key areas of SOX compliance, including risk assessment, design, implementation, and evaluation of deficiencies.
  • Project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (accounting preferred).
  • CPA certification or completion of CPA exams.
  • Experience in Cost and Inventory Accounting is preferred.
Work Environment:

This position is based in Fremont, CA, with a hybrid work model requiring in-office attendance on designated days.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated base salary range for this position in the San Francisco Bay Area is: $139,000 - $202,400. Actual salary will be determined based on the regional labor market and the candidate's qualifications.
