We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Franciscan Health in Michigan City. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a variety of outpatient settings.

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing direct patient care, including rooming patients, taking vitals, and documenting care in the electronic medical record
  • Administering vaccines, injections, and medications under the supervision of a RN/Provider
  • Gathering requirements from internal and external customers and providing information via phone, electronic messaging, and in person
  • Initiating and following through on prior authorizations, referrals, and processing sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma/GED
  • A Certificate or Associates Degree in Medical Assisting
  • 1 year of Medical Assisting experience (preferred)
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA) within 6 months of hire
