Job Overview

As a Registered Nurse in our Labor and Delivery department, you will provide family-centered care to patients and their families, recognizing their preferences, values, and needs. You will assume an active role in clinical education, function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, and integrate best current evidence with clinical expertise for delivery of optimal healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Family-Centered Care as demonstrated by recognizing the patient, family and/or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for patient's preferences, values, and needs.
  • Assumes active role in clinical education of patients, families and staff.
  • Functions effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.
  • Integrates best current evidence with clinical expertise for delivery of optimal healthcare.
  • Uses data to monitor the outcomes of care processes and uses improvement methods to test changes to continuously improve the quality and safety of healthcare systems.
  • Minimizes risk of harm to patients and providers through both system effectiveness and individual performance.
  • Uses information and technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
  • Serves as an agent of change within the organization, as demonstrated by involvement in unit and/or organizational activities, professional development activities, maintaining Magnet recognized certification, membership in a professional organization, and/or active participation in community advocacy or volunteer activities.

About the Department

The Labor and Delivery department at the Colorado Fetal Care Center at Children's Hospital Colorado offers care for perinatal care for expecting mothers with almost any fetal condition, regardless of how rare or critical. Our team of specialized MDs, Anesthesiologists, RNs, surgical technicians, and sonographers are highly trained to provide a deep level of experience and expertise for a vast array of rare and complex conditions.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • EXPERIENCE - One year nursing experience. Previous high-risk L&D experience.

Relocation Assistance

This position is eligible for relocation assistance, if relocating from 100 miles or greater.

Shift and Schedule

Full time, 36 hours per week, eligible for benefits. Rotating days/nights. 4 weeks nights, 4 weeks days per 8-week schedule. Weekends and holidays also required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). EXPERIENCE - One year nursing experience. Previous high-risk L&D experience.
