Key Responsibilities
As a Float RN, your duties will include:
- Delivering safe patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Being assigned to multiple units based on operational needs while maintaining proficiency in all areas.
- Providing direct patient care within the established scope of practice.
- Guiding patient and family education and overseeing the activities of other nursing staff while upholding professional nursing standards.
- Being accountable for the care provided to patients in your assigned unit.
- Communicating effectively with physicians regarding changes in patients' clinical conditions, including diagnostic results and symptoms.
- Responding promptly and accurately to any changes in patient conditions or treatment responses.
- Ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A current and valid state RN License.
- A current BLS (ARC/AHA) certification upon hire and maintenance of this certification.
- A current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and ongoing maintenance.
- A current PALS (ARC/AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and ongoing maintenance.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- The ability to float to multiple units while maintaining competency in assigned areas.
