Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to join our team for a travel nurse assignment in St Louis, MO.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and be able to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
  • Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
  • Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
  • Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
  • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
  • Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
  • Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
  • Educates patients on surgical procedures.
  • Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
Requirements:
  • BLS
  • 2 Years of experience
  • Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Please note that this is a travel nurse position, and the candidate should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. The candidate should also be able to easily lift 20 pounds and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
