Job Summary

ProMedica Health System is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of illness and injuries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on internal organs, tissues, and/or blood vessels
  • Use gray scale, color flow, power Doppler, and duplex imaging techniques to obtain high-quality images
  • Maintain proficiency in the utilization of all diagnostic ultrasound systems and the performance of all technical procedures
  • Ensure highest possible technical quality and maintain quality control and calibration of ultrasound systems
  • Check equipment and ensure safe, efficient operating conditions and report all equipment malfunctions
  • Utilize computerized Radiology Information Systems (EPIC, PACS, etc.) in an appropriate and accurate manner
  • Educate patients about their procedure and ensure patients and their families' comfort and needs are appropriately addressed
  • Assist physicians in physician-performed ultrasound guided procedures while maintaining a sterile environment
  • Assist with training/education/evaluation of student/new sonographers
Requirements
  • Must have attended an approved school of diagnostic ultrasound or have the equivalent experience accepted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
  • Must be registered as a diagnostic sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and must maintain active registry status
  • Must have CPR certification
