Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team at Quest Diagnostics in Statesboro, GA. As a Phlebotomist I, you will be responsible for collecting specimens from patients, administering oral solutions, and performing various laboratory tasks.

Responsibilities
  1. Collect specimens from patients using established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
  2. Administer oral solutions to patients as required.
  3. Verify and confirm patient information and test orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
  4. Enter data accurately and efficiently using a computer.
  5. Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required.
  6. Perform non-patient facing duties, such as inventory management, sanitizing equipment, and answering phones.
  7. Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  8. Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.
  9. Maintain accurate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training, is preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification is preferred in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • One year of phlebotomy experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment is preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience is required.
