Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiologic Technologist PRN to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a critical role in supporting the organization's mission and vision by providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our interventional radiology procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in performing a variety of interventional radiology procedures, ensuring compliance with organization policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
  • Operate and maintain radiological equipment, including C-Arm and ultrasound equipment, in accordance with established protocols.
  • Prepare and stock procedure rooms and procedure trays with necessary supplies and equipment, ensuring a sterile environment for patient procedures.
  • Conduct patient preparations, including positioning, shaving, and prepping, and document patient information as required.
  • Assist with patient transfers and transports, and input patient data into the C-Arm system.
  • Act as a scrub assistant during interventional procedures, administering fluoroscopy and maintaining a sterile technique.
  • Comply with HIPAA policies and standards regarding patient confidentiality, and maintain accurate and complete medical records.
  • Process x-ray images and archive them to the image repository, CD, or DVD, ensuring compliance with organization policies and state regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and radiation safety programs.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and restocking equipment, and make recommendations for equipment replacement and repair.
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure effective communication and ensure all necessary instruments and equipment are available.
  • Address physician concerns and participate in training and orienting new employees.
  • Ensure accurate and timely patient billing, reviewing procedures, documenting patient equipment charges, and verifying CPT and ICD-9 codes.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree desirable; and Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
  • Current ARRT Certification and/or State Licensure (as per state regulations).
  • Interventional Radiology certificate preferred.
  • 4-6 years' related experience desirable; 1 year experience preferred for Candidates with ARRT.
  • Working knowledge of interventional equipment, including C-Arm and ultrasound equipment.
  • Experience with interventional procedures, using/ordering/maintaining required materials/supplies for each procedure.
  • Knowledge and experience of sterile techniques, universal precautions, and personal protective devices.
  • Successfully complete BLS certification.
  • Experience with monitoring and maintaining inventory, and proficient in the use of computers and related software such as Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
