Job Summary

Dana Incorporated is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for performing manual gas metal arc welding operations to weld hanger and torque rod brackets to axle housings of various sizes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual gas metal arc welding operations to weld hanger and torque rod brackets to axle housings of various sizes.
  • Follow process prints, set up own work, change set-ups, and check first piece to verify set-up.
  • Perform exacting but not difficult set-ups.
  • Move housings using a hoist from welding fixture to roller conveyor.
  • Visually check weld quality 100%.
  • Deslag first pass weld, and change weld wire as required.
  • Detect and report faulty operation of equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to assigned supervisor.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Observe prescribed safety regulations, gauging frequencies, and other standards of operation and conduct.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by assigned supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for an 8-12 hour shift.
  • Must be able to push/pull with a force up to 65 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to operate material equipment.
  • Must be able to stoop or bend to move parts, operate material equipment, and clean area.
  • Must be willing to rotate jobs and be able to perform all operations in the department.
  • Attendance is mandatory and must be on time for work.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
  • Must practice good housekeeping and clean machines and work area.
  • Must be flexible and willing to perform any task assigned by supervisor.
  • Must be able to pass background check and meet substance abuse policy.
