Job Summary
As a compassionate patient care specialist, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care to support licensed professional nurses in ensuring a safe environment for patients. Your expertise will contribute to the overall assessment of each patient and any changes to their condition.

About Us
BJC HealthCare is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services, critical care, and emergency care, including pediatric emergency care at Children's at Memorial. We provide patients with a full range of diagnostic and treatment services, as well as heart and vascular care. Our hospital has been designated as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by the Illinois Department of Public Health and an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care.

Your Role
In this role, you will implement direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family-centered care in a healing environment. You will administer or assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), perform vital signs, intake & output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention measures, urinary catheter care, phlebotomy, or point-of-care testing as requested. You will also collect clinical data and information on patients, report changes in patient status to the nurse, and assist the nurse with patient and family education.

Requirements
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a High School Diploma or GED and no experience required. A Certified Nurse Assistant certification is preferred but not necessary. You must be able to work flexible hours, including days, nights, and weekends. As a member of our team, you will participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, you will participate in professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Salary Range
The estimated salary for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
