Job Description

As a School Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in providing speech, language, and swallowing disorder services to students. Your expertise will be essential in assessing, diagnosing, and treating students to enhance their academic and social success through effective communication skills.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs and goals.
  • Provide individualized therapy sessions to improve speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate students and their families on speech-language disorders, therapy techniques, and strategies for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Stay current with advancements in the field of speech-language pathology and incorporate evidence-based practices into clinical work.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and reports.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility for certification.
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Previous clinical experience preferred, particularly in diagnosing and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Passion, patience, and empathy for individuals with speech and language challenges.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
