Responsibilities:


Prepare patients for diagnostic examinations and clearly explain procedures while conducting studies; assess the clinical history of patients in relation to the tests being performed; collaborate with physicians to ascertain the appropriate ultrasonic procedures needed; consistently recognize the significance of all structures visualized on the oscilloscope; distinguish between artifacts and normal or pathological findings while acknowledging the limitations of electronic equipment; accurately label, coat, and archive the permanent recordings of scans for protection and filing; investigate, develop, and propose new procedures and techniques for implementation; provide training sessions for students and other staff in ultrasound; maintain accurate scan logs and procedural manuals; keep service records for ultrasound equipment; ensure regular and punctual attendance; adhere to the defined work schedule and be available for overtime as necessary; perform related duties as required.


Qualifications:


A high school diploma or equivalent, coupled with four years of experience in allied health or patient care, including two years of full-time ultrasound experience; or completion of an allied health degree or a two-year training program from an accredited institution recognized by the University of South Alabama, along with one year of full-time ultrasound experience; or successful completion of an approved ultrasound training program; must hold RDMS or RVT/RVS or RDCS/RCS registration.
